On 31st July until 13th August 2018, Universiti Putra Malaysia had hosted the second series of Agri-Relationship of ASEAN Universities Network (AUN) Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia after the success of the first program at Thaksin University, Phatthalung Campus, Thailand last year.
The 14-day program is the first inbound program organized by the Faculty of Agriculture involving the participation of foreign universities comprising 2 countries namely Indonesia and Thailand which are Sebelas Maret University, Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, Syiah Kuala University, Muria Kudus University and Thaksin University, Thailand. The program has attracted 20 entries from both countries.
The program aims is to expose participants to the development of the agricultural sector in Malaysia as well as to highlight the socio-cultural community of multiracial Malaysians in particular. The program is expected to enhance knowledge, exchange ideas, especially in the agricultural sector in Indonesia and Thailand, in turn to optimize the increasing economic activity of the three parties.
The ceremony was officiated by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture himself, YBhg. Prof. Abdul Shukor Juraimi. The inauguration ceremony was enlighted with the presence of former organizers, Dr. Uraiwan Tongkaemkaew from Thaksin University, and other university’s escort which is Puan Rahmi Hayati Putri from Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto and from Syiah Kuala University is their Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samadi and also their Deputy Dean Dr. Syafrudin.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the Agri - Relationship of ASEAN Universities Network (AUN) flag was pass to Syiah Kuala University, Aceh, Indonesia as the host for the third series which is to be held in 2019.
