ANIS BALQISH ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL FOR THE 2026/2027 SESSION

SERDANG, 11 June – Ms. Anis Balqish Ahmad, a second-year student in the Bachelor of Smart Agricultural Technology with Honours programme, has been elected as the President of the Faculty of Agriculture Student Representative Council (PERMATANI) for the 2026/2027 session.

Her appointment was announced during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Faculty of Agriculture Student Representative Council held yesterday, succeeding the 2025/2026 leadership team led by Ms. Ku Nur Liyana Ku Mokhtar.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Loh Teck Chwen, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Associate Professor Dr. Juwaidah Sharifuddin, Deputy Dean (Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni); Dr. Fazlin Ali, Advisor to PERMATANI; as well as several faculty student club advisors.

The meeting commenced with the AGM session, which included the presentation of the annual report, remarks from the advisor, and the official dissolution of the 2025/2026 leadership committee. The event then proceeded with the announcement of the new leadership team for the 2026/2027 session and concluded with an oath-taking ceremony by the newly appointed student leaders.

Prior to her appointment, Anis Balqish served as the Head of the Green Sustainability and Food Security Secretariat within the previous leadership team. Her election as President reflects the confidence placed in her capabilities and leadership to continue advancing student development initiatives within the Faculty of Agriculture.

Notably, the 2026/2027 leadership session also witnessed an organisational restructuring with the introduction of the Deputy President III position. This initiative aims to strengthen governance and expand the scope of programme implementation and student welfare efforts at the faculty level.

It is hoped that the new leadership team will continue to play an active role in empowering the student voice, strengthening the relationship between students and faculty management, and spearheading various initiatives that benefit the entire Faculty of Agriculture community.
