SERDANG, September 4 - A total of 250 students have enrolled to Faculty of Agriculture, University Putra Malaysia for this 2018/2019 academic session. Six bachelor degree programs has been offered. Among the programs are Bachelor of Agricultural Science (53 students), Bachelor of Horticultural Science (45 students), Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (52 students), Bachelor of Agricultural (Aquaculture) (34 students) and Bachelor of Agriculture (Animal Science) (50 students), Bachelor of Science Plantation Management (16 students).

Interestingly for this registration session, the Faculty of Agriculture received 3 international students, of which two were from China and one from Somalia.

Registration sessions have begun as early as 8.00am at the Faculty of Agriculture Hall and the registration process runs smoothly and does not take long as the Academic Office, Student Affairs and Alumni Office has made tremendous improvement in supporting the university's green sustainability program by introducing a new registration concept by using Quick Response Code (QR Code). Such concept reduces paper usage and resolves physical record keeping issues at the Faculty of Agriculture. Additionally, the concept of digitizing the student data on the day of registration also increased staff productivity as it did not have to be re-typed like previous practice.

President of Agricultural Student Association (PERMATANI), Mohamad Hakimi Shuib praised the efforts of Academic Officers, Student Affairs and Alumni to improve the registration systems that are much faster, more effective and relevant to the current era. He also hoped that the academic administration at the Faculty of Agriculture would continue to improve the welfare of students to be more secure not only during the registration session but throughout the four (4) years of study at the Faculty.

While in the morning, the Mandate Ceremony was held with the presence of the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Abdul Shukor Juraimi accompanied by Deputy Dean, Associate Professor Dr Nur Azura Adam to deliver the academic briefing to the students. Professor Dr. Abdul Shukor Juraimi also congratulated the students who had enrolled in the Faculty of Agriculture.
