SERDANG, July 31, 2019 - UPM has won four gold, seven silver and one bronze medals at the Pertandingan Inovasi Pembelajaran (PIP) 2019 organized by Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) at Muadzam Shah Hall, UUM.

Dr. Asmidawati Ashari, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, Faculty of Human Ecology has won two gold medals through a research project from the Research Incentives Grant for Teaching and Learning (Geran Insentif Penyelidikan untuk Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran, GIPP) project: i-ASK: An Experiential Learning of Senescence Using Interactive Aging Simulator Kit and the i-COPE project: Towards Enhancing and Engaging Exercise Coaching for Older Adults together with Prof. Dato' Dr. Tengku Aizan Hamid, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahimah Ibrahim, Dr. Wan Arnidawati W. Abdullah (Faculty of Human Ecology), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusmadi Yah Jusoh (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chan Yoke Mun (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences). Also winning a gold medal was Dr. Chong Chou Min, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture. The Gold Medal was won through the GamUDLearn project: Integration of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Gamification with Dr. Zarirah Mohamed Zulperi (Faculty of Agriculture), Dr. Hasliza Abu Hassim (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Puan Chong Leong (Faculty of Forestry), Dr. Mohd Redzwan Sabran (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences), Dr. Lai Kok Song (Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences), Dr. Mohd Noor Hisham Mohd Nadzir (Faculty of Science), Dr. Mohd Hazwan Mohd Puad (Faculty of Educational Studies), Prof. Dr. Muta Harah Zakaria and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurfadhlina Mohd Sharef (Center for Academic Development).

Another senior lecturer from the Faculty of Human Ecology, Dr. Hj. Ahmad Nasir Mohd Yusoff won one gold, and two silver at the PIP 2019. The gold medal was won through the I-DAN project: Cakna Peradaban Malaysia Dalam Kursus Wajib Universiti IPT with UPM Senior Lecturer, Dr. Rozihan Mohamed and Cyberjaya High School teacher, Mrs. Noralina Ali. Meanwhile, the silver medal was won through the project: Aplikasi Mobile ARTitas Dalam E-Pembelajaran Berimpak Tinggi and the project: Pengajaran Transformatif Tanpa Syarahan Melalui ‘Flipped Classroom’, ‘Gamifikasi’ dan ‘Peeragogi’.  Two silver medals were won by GIPP researcher Dr. Rozihan Mohamed, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture (MyFish Id: Gamified on Fish Species Identification and Real Time Geolocation) and Dr. Marsyita Hanafi, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering (project: Measuring Critical Thinking Problem Solving Skills of Engineering Students Using a Comprehensive Assessment Approach).  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syamsiah Mashohor, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering (project: Oh-My-English: The Speech-Based English Language Variation Tool) and Dr. Sreetheran Maruthaveeran, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Design and Architecture (project: #Hashtags to Facilitate Teaching and Learning of Research Methods and the Visual Research Planning Tool For GOT project) won one and two silver medals respectively.  Meanwhile, the bronze medal was won by the Senior Lecturer of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus, En. Johan Ismail through the project: Prototype Augmented Reality Embeded Course Module.  Congratulations and best wishes to everyone!
