139 Little Caliphs Students Enjoy Agricultural Exploration at UPM

SERDANG, UPM, 18 June 2026 – A total of 139 students from Little Caliphs Alam Sari and GMI Preschool, Kajang, participated in an educational field trip to Farm 10, Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Serdang, today.

Held in conjunction with PUTRA Synergy Month 2026, the programme took place from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and aimed to promote agricultural knowledge among the community, strengthen community engagement, and cultivate environmental sustainability awareness from an early age.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and laughter as the children were given the opportunity to experience paddy planting firsthand and enjoy activities in the paddy field. This was followed by a fish-feeding session, where they observed tilapia farming operations at close range. The students also explored a stingless bee farm to learn about the uniqueness of natural honey before attending a demonstration on soap-making using stingless bee products.

The programme was successfully facilitated by seven farm staff members, supported by 17 teachers and volunteers, ensuring the smooth implementation of all activities. Photography sessions were also conducted throughout the programme to capture the students’ memorable experiences.

The management of Little Caliphs expressed hope that this hands-on agricultural exploration beyond the classroom would inspire curiosity, foster self-confidence, and provide meaningful learning experiences for the children, in line with the aspirations of PUTRA Synergy Month 2026.
