Faculty of Agriculture Organises NotebookLM Enterprise Briefing to Strengthen Students' Research Capabilities

SERDANG, 26 June – The Office of the Deputy Dean (Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni), Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised a NotebookLM Enterprise Briefing Session at the Agriculture Hall today.

The knowledge-sharing session was delivered by Dr. Jasmin Ariff Shah, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Technology and the Faculty's AI Championship Ambassador. The briefing aimed to introduce NotebookLM Enterprise as an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform capable of enhancing students' efficiency in conducting academic research.

Among the key topics presented were systematic literature management, techniques for conducting more in-depth analyses of research documents, and the application of AI to support academic writing in a more structured, efficient, and high-quality manner. Participants were also introduced to the various features of NotebookLM Enterprise that facilitate information organisation, summarisation, and idea generation based on credible reference sources.

The programme was specifically designed for postgraduate students as well as undergraduate students undertaking their Bachelor's Dissertation (Final Year Project), equipping them with the necessary skills to address the challenges of research in the digital era.

This initiative reflects the Faculty of Agriculture's commitment to strengthening its research culture while expanding students' proficiency in the application of AI technologies.

Through this programme, the Faculty hopes that students will utilise AI technologies ethically and effectively to produce higher-quality, high-impact research and scholarly writing that meet the evolving demands of contemporary higher education.
